KEEP THE CUFF: Men’s Fall Fashion 2013

KEEP THE CUFF Mens Fall Fashion

Although the summer has come to an end, one of the very popular warm weather trends hasn’t, The Cuff. A timeless detail that can elevate the style of any outfit, if done right of course. An upward cuff looks good with any pair of pants a man chooses to wear, well most of them any way; the key is to remain conscious of the width of the leg opening. Straight cut pants or slim fit are typically the best choice for this look. During warmer weather seasons,  the pants are usually cuffed and worn with loafers, boat shoes, moccasins, even oxfords and lace-ups.  By cuffing your pant legs, it shows that some thought was actually put into your appearance and may even hint that your are a tad bit style conscious. The same concepts can be applied during cooler weather as well, it’s all about execution.

KEEP THE CUFF Mens Fall Fashion 2013There are a few things that must be considered when wearing cuffed pants in cooler temperatures; the pants, the socks, and the shoes. These three components are essential because they coincide with one another and collectively determine the theme of your outfit. The pants you wear will be determined based on the look you want to attain; textured, fit, as well as print must be considered. Plaids, checkered, and paisley are classic printed trousers that are currently trending, but you must figure out what works for you. Secondly, a great pair of shoes is very versatile and will look good with most outfits. Some classic and stylish shoes that have versatility are wing tips, lace ups, Doc Martens, and monk straps; these can be worn casual or dressed up. Moral of the story, invest in quality shoes, it’s worth it. [See Shoe Suggestion Infographic Below]

Last, but not least, socks are important because they are exposed by the cuff and gives you the opportunity to show a little personality; choose wisely. Keep in mind your socks must compliment the color and concept of the entire look.

KEEP THE CUFF Mens Fall Fashion 2013There are certain things that gents can do to express their sense of style, it’s all in the details. Maintaining your own personal style from season to season is done by knowing what works best for you. In fashion, everything can’t be used for every season, the things that can are classic.  This is why I’m urging you to…….KEEP THE CUFF.
