As summer turns into fall, the colors of the world begin to change. Mother Nature turns green into brown and eventually brown turns into white. So as she begins to change, we change with her.
For me, fall means jackets and stylish shoes and boots.
The Fall Colors
For men, knowing the fall colors will attribute to a better sense of style and more appropriate attire. Fall 2013 colors contain the following color palette:
· Deep Lichen Green
· Mykonos Blue
· Carafe
· Acai
· Samba
· Emerald
· Linden Green
· Beaujolais
· Turbulence
· Koi
Each of these colors contributes to a newly founded versatile and unisex floor palette that creates elegance, sophistication and mystery all in one. Men can have fun with these colors and really tweak their boldness and masculinity.
Every few years I like to travel to New York City and find the latest trends. Jackets are some of my favorite yearly clothing items to find because the styles are ever changing from year-to-year. While last year’s jacket might suffice for certain occasions, I prefer to have something that is more fresh and fashion-forward.
In 2013, you can find the following jackets trending:
· Parkas
· Sports Jackets
· Straight double-breasted
· Straight single-breated
If, like myself, you are more interested in having coats, the following coats are all a buzz in Fall 2013:
· Down-padded coats
· Sheepskin coats
Designs are in abundance this year for jackets. Most commonly, jackets that come to the waist or slightly below the waist are making their way onto the runway. Even shortened coats have been seen on the catwalk. However, it should be noted that fall and winter jackets and coats should not be misconstrued. Pay close attention to color schemes and ensure the jacket follows a more subtle fall palette. Browns and blacks will be geared better for fall.
I contribute my love of trench coats to David Tennant in Doctor Who. Having a trench coat, especially in windy cities, can be a welcomed necessity. Whether I am in windy Chicago or chilly New York City, my trench coats have kept me warm with a touch of class. So what style of trench coat is currently trending in the fashion world?
· The “Military” Style – The more military styled trench coats are in abundance and blowing up heavily within the 2013 fall season. There are several styles within the “military” family, however, which one you prefer depends heavily on your preference.
· The “Retro” Style – Another style that is found in the overcoat and trench coat brands throughout fall is the more 40’s retro line with a slight slimming variation. This is a good style for men who are looking for a more “fashion-forward” outlook.
Last on my list of items to cover for men are fashionable shoes for this fall. For men and women, shoes can be a tedious adventure – but at the end, it will all be worthwhile.
· High Men’s Boots – High boots for men never go out of style. However, for Fall 2013, a few changes were made to the models. Opposed to having shorter heights, they are now longer and taller for men. However, if you still have good use of last year’s high men’s boots, wearing them is no problem.
· Military Style – “Military” themed clothing is still in high demand. It has now lasted another fall season.
Lace, buckle and smooth are all trending; in addition, to small platform, ribbed and smooth soled shoes. Overall, shoe styles have no changed drastically as of fall 2012, just minor changes.
