London’s skyline is rich in history and culture, and it has been changing and growing at increasing speed for years now. London’s most famous and prominent buildings, both old and new, haven’t come cheap. So, how do the buildings match up with the price – and with each other? It would seem there are no plans to slow down on building or spending in the next five years, with 100’s of millions of pounds being fed through the planning system.
So, are these skyscrapers beautiful, forming a huge part of London’s history and adding to that fantastic hustle and bustle of city life? Creating modern buildings in an ancient city and diversifying what London has to offer?
Or, are you wondering where on earth this money is coming from? Wondering why there is an insistence to overcrowd our city and overspend our taxes? For example, a whole £650 million is being invested in the new US Embassy building in Mayfair – raising the question: are we going too far and have we got our priorities right? The situation is certainly causing a rift between some taxpayers and the project planners, but is there an easy solution? Probably not…
