We all have our own bucket lists: the list of things that we want to do before we die. For some of us the items on our lists are more laid back, like visiting Europe, getting a tattoo, or visiting all of the state capitals in the U.S. – But for some of us, the thrill seekers, we need something with a bit more oomph. Our list is filled with items meant to get our heart pumping.
If you’re the type that is constantly looking for a rush, here are 10 things to do around the world that you can add to your thrill-seeker’s bucket list:
1. Skydiving in Australia
Always dreamt of going to Australia? Why not take a skydiving vacation around this beautiful continent. With some of the most breathtaking views in the world, you can even skydive landings directly onto the beach. While the butterflies in your stomach may tell you otherwise, there’s no more liberating feeling than the moment after you jump as you fall through the clouds in the sky – not to mention the rush that accompanies it!
2. Bungee Jumping in Cape Town
Bungee jumping can be a huge charge much like skydiving. The difference is you don’t have the time to take in the details and marvel at the strange landscape below – with bungee jumping it’s pure adrenaline the entire way down…then up…then down again. The Bloukrans Bridge in Cape Town, South Africa is the highest single span arched bridge in the world. So, take an exhilarating plunge from one of the highest bungee jump locations possible!
3. Volcano Boarding in Nicaragua
If you’re a fan of snowboarding, then try you must try this by heading to Cerra Negro, Nicaragua. Here you’ll be able to board down the side of a live volcano! The experience is part of a day trip offered by Bigfoot Nicaragua, includes a hike, the boarding session and a few Mojitos to celebrate the feat.
4. The Cage of Death in Australia
Head over to Crocosaurus Cove in Australia to experience the only crocodile dive in the country. What does it entail? You’ll be put into a completely enclosed but clear cage and lowered into a large tank of alligators for 15 minutes – all while trainers feed the alligators!
5. Surfing in Tasmania
If you haven’t gone surfing before, then just taking a lesson will be well worth it. If you’re pretty experienced with a board, take the challenge of surfing at the Ship Stern Bluff in Tasmania. The only way you can reach this spot is by hiking for an hour or by boat. How extreme is it? The smallest waves crash down at six feet high and they’ve been known to reach heights of up to 18 feet!
6. The Big Shot in Las Vegas
The Stratosphere hotel in Las Vegas boasts the world’s highest amusement ride: The Big Shot. The Big Shot is almost an 1,000 high free fall ride. You’ll shoot up from the base all the way to the top, then free fall back to the bottom, generating close to 4g’s!
7. The Insanity in Las Vegas
While you’re at the Stratosphere, be sure to ride the Insanity. This ride is a giant mechanical arm that dangles participants over the edge of the tower, spinning them around at almost 25 mph and at 3g’s!
8. Base Jumping in Malaysia
Base-jumping is like a combination of bungee jumping and skydiving. You can go base jumping all over the world, whether it’s off of cliffs or towers, such as the Kuala Lumpur Tower. Instead of being attached to a bungee cord, you’ll free fall until you open your parachute.
9.The Edge Walk in Toronto, Canada
Head to the CN Tower in Toronto, which is 1,168 feet high, and walk around the edge outside (while safely attached by a chord, of course).
10. Takabisha in Japan
Are you a roller coaster enthusiast? If so, go down the steepest roller coaster in the world in Fujiyoshida, Japan.
